Carb clean tips?

It sounds as if the idle/fuel shut off solenoid is faulty. This is a prob (yes, another one!) we encountered on Nessy and it was cured by the fitment of a new solenoid

I think the problem was with the dodgy connections to it (especially the throttle-stop one), rather than the solenoid itself. Either way, cleaning and replacing everything fixed it If this is the case, it basically will NOT idle at all, not "it's a bit shaky".

I'd tempted to say your problems sound more like a vacuum leak Gemma.
