Fitting 240 calipers
I've been thinking about fitting 240 calipers for a while now. The thing that bothered me was plumbing them in. Thinking about its not so hard. You will need the bracket welding to the strut and flexis. I've also noticed there is a spare take off on the master cylinder. The could be used to supply the second circuit.
I wont be doing this for a while as I have 8 sets of pads to use!!

My old man used em on his amazon. The only car I can think of that will stop from 30mph in under 10 feet

The distance between mounting holes on the scoob ones is much bigger and to get a drop bracket to fit i will need to machine out of the caliper carrier. Talking about these though especially as 4pots makes me change my mind!!! Annoying as i was going to use these in the first place!!!!
Cheers Adam

So do the 240 calipers bolt straight on to the 300 hub? If they do, I may have to rethink my plans

yes they 100% bolt on !!
2 or 3 years ago i spoke to the guy who owned/helped build our car and bearing in mind he's from gretna and speaks really fast in a strong accent this is what he said to me about front brakes :
its easy son !!!
get some 10 1/4" x 19 or 20 mm vents
take original discs off and machine them down to make bells out of them
bolt new vents to machined bells and re fit
get some 240 or 740 4 pots[he said bendix type] and a t for pipes or use 2 flexis
and thats it.

now he is a clever guy and has built rally cars all his life, and was a works hillman/talbot/volvo driver. hes about 70 now and still rallies avengers and builds them for the rich people.......so i take his word as gospel and when i talked about 300's he had nothing but good things to say about them.
i was on phone to friend lastnight to get some discs he had BUT he'd just given them to another friend who is building a bm trouble you[bmw] to rally. if he hasnt fitted them i will borrow them and make up a complete strut with hubs etc and even fit a 13" rim to show you all how to do it step by step. i have found a place that will recon calipers[shot blast/paint/new seals/pressure tested etc] for £80 + postage !!! if i cant get discs for trial i will buy a pair[they r cheap],but you will have to wait a week or 2 ......
on saturday [if/when i get some time] i will build them up without the discs if my bro finds the spare hubs burried in the garage somewhere. i have bearings etc here at home ready ......and hopefully without getting original discs being machined because i have a fealing they will bolt straight onto hubs!?!?!
