door check pin
How do I remove the pin that keeps the door check strap together? I don't seem to be able to get it any further than I can hammer it... I want to fit my new wing
Thanks,
Thanks,
heya
dya mean the one by the back of the wing? Either you can remove the allen bolts that hold it into the A pillar - but these might be rounded due to age... or you have to remove the pin as shown in the following pic. Here I used a Draper door pin removal tool. A light tap with a hammer should be enought to remove it.
on the 400s this pin wear quite fast and make the door make a pop pop sound as it opens.. fortunately the 300s dont suffer from this problem...

Put the check strap back on
If the wind gets it it'll fold the door up! I think it was the check strap, I know the rear door on my GLT did it until I put the bolts in
