Unfortunately I had to cancel this swap.
Everything was done except one or two minor things.
Here in Portugal, in the last weeks, the cops have been doing a lot of verifications in the road for non-stock cars, and all cars with modifications are "arrested".
Volvo didn't give me an approval for the modification. This motor with the Turbo, injection, inlet manifold, intercooler, doesn't have any chances in a situation like that, and I don't want to see my car in the police park to make a Type-B inspection where the car will definitely fail.
For now i've put back the original motor, and I'm looking for alternatives to get some power mantaining the most original aspect possible.
At least I got a paper from Volvo saying that I can use 14's and 15's wheels

Wow, that's strict.. Here we can do almost anything as long as car is safe at the yearly MOT. Insurance kills on some of these if you tell them though...

Here we don't have any problems with the insurance.

Damn that really sucks mate, 250 for an air filter

, maybe worth sending the conversion kit over to the UK if anyone was interested, (manifolds, etc)? Guess postage would be a lot though,
cheers

I have sold the motor for a friend.
Only have a modified inlet manifold (from a 21 1.7 injection).

You could do the same as me a just use the 2ltr lump out of a 460. That way they would not be able to tell by looking at the engine.

Here we don't get 2.0 400's
only 1.7's
I've thought in a 1.7 109hp one but I'll change the admission system..
Maybe you can help me in my other topic about the GLT cylinder head

surely the fact the VIN numbers don't match would give it away?

Well the VIN is not a problem.
Problems on putting the 2.0
- can't find it here in Pprtugal because 400 with that motor haven't been sold round here
- It is an injection motor... They'll see that the engine has been swaped easy.

It is very a pity, especially after that volume of work which you have made. I certainly would put it and even one evening on it has driven. I too wished to put myself 2.0 motor but from for the same toughening in rules of traffic have refused such idea. In USA only for one air filter of zero resistance car can take away for examination on presence of not certificated completions.
It is a pity it is very a pity
Here now I shall tuned the b14, only in the spring so in any way it to not turn out to another.
Cheers Omar

Well.. here if you have differente wells, no matter the difference, you've got a fine.. 200 euros I thinck.
But Volvo have passed me the paper from 13' to 15', seven or eight differente measures.

classicswede that 2.0 engine from the 480 is the same that came in the Renault Lagina 2.0 with 115hp?
Could it be running in carburtor?
What you guys prefer. An 90' 340 GL with that 2.0 or the 1.7, or a 83' 365 GLS B19A?
If I take the GLS I'll have the 340 for parts donor (mk3 style, electric stuff, etc...)
