Hang on! You had the Taunton meet on your doorstep, if I'd have been free that weekend I'd have been driving over 200 miles to that one.

and as for the average, it's still daaaaan saaaafff, and if you want to dispute this, here's a quick map

I make the average to be cheltenham and I vote that the next meet should definately be north of birmingham as it's only fair.

How can the average be Chelthman, draw a line across horizontal and you get 5 dots above, and 1 below!!! Dunno where you learneded averages, but sounds like the same place I learned English. Consider yourself disputed :P

I'm not sure what some of the points on there are however, off hand I don't remember a full meet at Brum (there might well have been), and I don't think I can see Stondon, but my geography isn't good at the best of times. If Stondon is missed, thats another tick for the Hatfield area, so another southern one.

The Taunton one wasn't exactly on my doorstep either, Steve managed to get there quicker than me, mainly as the road along the South Coast is so cr*p, but it's still similar milage Taunton-Soton or Taunton-Brum, and it'll be the same for the Haynes place. I've got to the stage now where I know the only good place for us to go around me is Beaulei, which I've tried to push a few times, and not many have seemed keen.

I think it's been proved now that for a meet to be 'good' it needs to have some kind of structure, and something to do. There are a lot of good motoring museums out there, even the small ones, and I personally want to visit them and therefore don't mind travelling.

You'll see that I have said to 990 (and more to the point, anyone else) to come up with some good places for future trips, so far there have only been a few of us proposing them, and all the time I propose stuff, it's gonna be the stuff I know of, which is nearly all Brum down, sorry, I just havn't been further north than Preston, and that once, and once to Sheffield. I'm well up for a meet north of Brum, I'm taking Kate on Holiday up there this year, as I feel there is so much of it I'm missing, but I cannot suggest things I don't know about. As to it being not fair, if you honestly feel that I'm sure you'll do some research and try to organise something.

Sorry for the rant, but it gets on my t*ts that people say that we always go South, and then forget the whole East and West thing, we have width down here ;) It's the same distance, if not a tad further, to drive from Deal, Kent, to Lands End, than it is to drive Soton to Gateshead. Add to that I've had a sh*te evening, so I'll stop now. Night

I'd like to come along and should be able to make either weekend. However my car may be off the road so might have to come in something else :(

Thats would be cool. But I'm also thinking a run in the MR2 could be fun for some of the roads round there - including Zig-Zag hill :D

Lol, well, depending on the state of Fake, I may need to jump into the Mr Two ;) You reckon you'll have the engine done by then?

So far, confirmed:-
