Rise above it mate! I know why I choose to own a Volvo 300, they often have to put up with something crappy! Some of them finally realise what a good motor they are, others will always ridicule, never being able to overcome stereotypical images and preformed opinions. Enjoy it and be different!

Gareth...any ridicule can be overcome using two magic words: "Race me" sm56 Is your 340 a 5 speed, or a 4 speed? The 5 speeds are respectably swift for what is a family sized car with a little-car engine.

Yeah they're funny looking, and you can't buy aftermarket parts for them from the back of Max Power, but the ability to take three friends shopping in comfort, fit all of their shopping (and your own) in the boot with room to spare, and travel back smug in the knowledge that your car cost so little that you could (if you so wished) run three for about the same cost as finance payments on a "fwd french toss" supermini...and yes that does include insurance for a young person! One for shopping, one for racing, and one for the girlfriend :D

I took Ruth's housemates shopping in Nessy on Saturday, and a gang of chavvy lads in a Corsa pointed and laughed. I thought to myself something along the lines of "despite spending a small fortune of having your car look like it's had an accident with the 'Ripspeed' department at a branch of Halfords, who's the one with three attractive young ladies in the car?". One of the girls commented on how comfy the seats were. This is what lasses care about when it comes to cars (if anything!), not Lexus lights and chrome rims. Silly chavs.

cheers

Good work Foggy! You're spot on, women do comment on how comfortable the 300 seats are, and the heater works well in winter etc!

And as for running more than one 300, that'll be happening soon all being well, with the ultra low milage 340 vario, soon get it to normal figures!

LOL, oh dear........I could also see this thread was going to be the victim of perviness!

Heated seats is the answer for the leather Steve, or keep them warm yourself.
