After hearing Pete's 'wheel nut / windscreen' horror story, I've eventually (
) ventured into my tool box to retrieve the torque wrench.
Is there any difference between steel and alloy wheels? I remember checking the nuts on Sausage (steel) but have never done it with Rory (alloy).
In fact, dare I be so bold as to ask if anyone knows how tight they should be?
Thank you!
Gavin.

They're supposed to be 110nm, as courtesy of Andy who I asked about this yesterday!

Had this question in a PM yesterday.
For 300 series recommended torque is 115Nm (about 85lbf.ft) (some sources give 110Nm).
For 400 series recommended torque is 110Nm (about 81lbf.ft)
The above is given for both alloy and steel wheels so I would suggest it is not absolutely critical. I would suggest you use the 300 figure and as with all alloy wheels recheck tightness every so often (and one week after fitting).
Mac.

Thank you Mr Redline. Maybe a bit too much information there.
Trying hard not to visualise it.

I do usually stop when I'm in red phase
Also put some grease to threads so I can open them later, that is easy part as need to use only body weight and not so much muscles

well it took a bit of searching but it was worth it this thing gets longer when you need to use it , sits comfortably in the palm of your hand you have to twist it a bit to get the desired effact but with very little exertion loosens off the tightest of nuts
