pop down the Brittannia Inn pub and tell the landlord that Mick from the tv licencing task force sent you
( I was only there 15 years ago hes sure to remember me )

I stayed there for a fortnight and had my fiesta nicked on the middle Saturday night , they found it on the Tuesday parked nicely at the bottom of Blackpool tower less the tools.

they are a lovely bunch in there and they will probably track the little scrotes down and shoot them in the balls for you
(seems like suitable justice to me )

stay overnight if you can they serve the best brekfast in the North and you might even get invited out by the landlord on a pub crawl ,

believe me its an experience you wont forget
It's good to know they can still roll out the red carpet for out of towners, now for the bad news - over 50% of the pubs and inn's here have gone under (possibly even the Brittanna)

Things are getting bad when the locals can't afford to go for a drink

Bad luck, mate

Knee-capping would be too good for them...

I had the same thing done to one of my old GLT's in Chelsea years ago (you'd have thought they could have jumped on the Aston parked next to it instead... cowards).

To quote Pulp Fiction:

Lance: They should be fucking killed. No trial, no jury, straight to execution.
Vincent: Boy, I wish I could've caught him doing it. I'd have given anything to catch that asshole doing it. It'd been worth him doing it just so I could've caught him doing it.
Lance: What a fucker!
Vincent: What's more chickenshit than fucking with a man's automobile? I mean, don't fuck with another man's vehicle.
Lance: You don't do it.
Vincent: It's just against the rules.

Give me a call. Nessy has air horns and knows no fear. A little tale to lighten the mood....

I was driving home, following a colleague when a group of scrote-ish chavs decide to start acting up as we approach. One walks out in front of my colleague's car (clearly on purpose), causing him to brake and swerve violently. He leaps back onto the pavement, gives my colleague the finger, then lines up to do the same to me.

Big mistake. I've already knocked down a drunken Polak*, and I, nor the car know no fear. He takes two steps out, I drop a gear, floor it, steer towards him and lean on the air horns. The scrote leapt about two feet in the air, dived for the curb, and just about managed a feeble "w*****", which I barely noticed I was so busy pissing myself with laughter...which incidentally my colleague was also doing, I just saw up ahead. A small victory in the fightback against the chav...happy days!

cheers

James

* Disclaimer: it really, really wasn't my fault, honest, and I'm only joking about this because it takes my mind off how the tosser did £1k+ of damage to my concourse winning car...the cost of which I have no real means of recovering from him.

i actually witnessed someone running over the top of my car
(the fact that i do it myself to my car did nothing to quell my rage!)

he squared up to me when i remonstrated, so i trod on his feet and pushed him backwards, knocking him out on the wing of my 340 (spinal compression & that!) he was o.k afterwards unfortunately, but at least he'll think twice about vandalising my sh*theap without my prior permission

(ps i do love my car, its just the particular look i'm going for requires a little panel tenderising and random primer)

You didn't deserve it dude - it's just that there are a few scumbags about in this world...

It's also part of owning an old car - for some reason nihlistic kids want to smash them up. My beautiful electric blue Scirocco became beyond repair after repeated attacks. It genuinely made me want to cry (but I didn't, because that would just be too wet). And I've had a 360 jumped on once as well (although I quite liked the Mad Max look this gave TBH).

Maybe it's jelousy, maybe it's seen as an easy target. Either way it's soul destroying for the owner who's spent time, money and effort getting their vehicle just right only to have some ass-hole wreck it intentionally for no good reason.

If I had the money I would seriously consider getting rid of it and buying another just so you get shot of all that bad energy tied up in it - but that's just me. Other folk might see that as defeatist and prefer to put it all back just the way it was.

Either way, try not to let the b*stards get you down.

Hey, I only had two centre caps....what was I supposed to do?! sm56 sm56 sm56 sm56 sm56

Jesting aside, that's totally taking the piss. Do you live in a dodgy area (considering that clearly no-where oop North is non-dodgy ;))?

I keep a fair eye on the cars - my living room and bedroom both overlook where they live, and I have a large Maglite in case any brats fancy causing trouble. I chased them down the road when they were climbing on my neighbours (new) Mondeo, but they seem so leave the bricks alone, and the ones I care about are hidden up the drive. Last year someone clearly kicked (or similar) the 360 on one of the doors while it was parked out in the road.

The conclusion I've come to is that if you really want to keep a car in A1 condition, don't live in the ghetto, don't park it in a supermarket car park in a way which would allow anyone to open their door into it, and drive it as little as possible. If you actually use the car 'normally', it WILL get damaged, so you either buy something where it doesn't matter (Nessy), or you spend a fortune on keeping on top of bodywork repairs.

cheers

My car is overlooked by my bedroom and my living room and my daughters room - AND - I have a dog.

It is getting me down but I will NOT give up on this car, why should I. Now I need to find new centre caps for the Mk 2's - which is proving damn difficult.

If I ever catch the person in question we are going to go for a long long drive.

As for area I used to live in the Murder Capital of the UK - then I moved to a nice area - strangely no one touched my car in Murder Capital UK :D

I was writing reply, but my computer blew

Now running with backup parts, only 16 colours etc...

Anyway, I was saying that you could get finger prints from wheels as they have taken hub caps, then you could make report to police those prints included as evidence and with luck who is resposible from this is already registered and easily get caught that way.

Of course you can't get him to court with that, but can find who is that dickhead...

There is some other methods too, however police wont bother most likely as it crime is so small in their opinion, but with some work you can do their job and it can be that dickhead will sing too if handled properly ;)

Getting fingerprint powder and other useful stuff is not too expensive, in London there is many spy shops (there have to be as Mr. Bond needs all kind of things too :D)
Even toys are useful in detective work, you don't need to get stuff that will empty your wallet.

Also it might be actually quite interesting to find out evidence and such, I'm sure there is some internet pages that help in this detective stuff :)

We can already say that vandal is most likely local, probably lives within block or two, possibly teenager or drug user/other way mentally disorted.

Things to check are if there has been new ppl in neighborhood or perhaps some teen got new friends, some interviewing of other residents could be rewarding if they have seen something that has changed etc.
Time window is perhaps week or two from first incident to incident day.
You need to eliminate possibilities one by one and after you have eliminate all except one then you will have solutions to puzzle.

It is far from impossible to find that person who does this, it just may take little time and work.

Same with me - I had cars vandalised in Chelsea London, and Clifton in Bristol which is it's Chelsea equivelent. Cars broken into in both as well.

When I lived on a council estate in Brixton I never had any trouble at all... I guess the vandals & thieves don't crap on their own doorstep...
