The 300 Series Action Group

Post by 990 »

Hi all,

Thought I would let you know with some local assistance and toolfest the 360 is now back in action and 85% repaired after the recent spate of Volvo bashing.

on a seperate note the people in question are unlikely to do it anymore

Thanks all for the encouragement throughout this 'trying' time

John :D

John, glad to hear it mate on both accounts!!! I take it they've had a stern talking to.......... plus some.........

When you say it's 85 % repaired......... anything I can help with? Bumpers....... got a few red bits and pieces lying about, or anything 360 related if it's of any help mate.

Volvohood watch originated here on V3M, see a Volvo getting bashed, run the chav down! Talking of which, everyone be careful of the new chav craze of filming their mates on their camera phones doing stupid things. In France they've been running out infront of cars, so the driver will react by swerving, causing an accident which they've then got on their mobile to show their mates and put on youtube. I want some bullbars......... just let them try it on me, if it's wearing Burberry it's fair game! :D Seriously though I'm not saying we should run people down, but it's survival of the fitest, if they're stupid enough to do it natural selection will take care of them eventually.

Keep your head up John, Volvo's are tough.

Good work chap - don't let the bastards grind you down!

As far as I'm able (I know you don't necessarily act with a clear head), I'll not swerve to avoid something which runs out in front of me unless I absolutely know it's clear. You can do far, far more damage by swerving. Frankly, if whatever it is runs out in front of me (or is allowed to run out in front of me), it deserves to get hit. Natural selection will have its way...sm56

Joking aside, I'll obviously do what I can to slow/stop, but I'm not going to spare someone's cat, only to run headlong into a car full of a family. And I've actually been there, with a human...

cheers

I know that they say you should never swerve, but I'd have trouble not to. I know it obviously differs on different roads, and country lanes where you can't pass easily, then it's no more dangerous a few feet to the right.

Personally I'll try harder to avoid an animal than a human, as they should know better ;)

That reminds me, I was at a junction with a main road a few days ago, crawling slowly up to it as other cars waited. then I was creaping out (relativly blind junction), and see it's clear so I go, and my dad shouts stop!

I look, and a cyclist has just passed me on the left as I'm pulling out to turn left!! I don't know if they were on the pavement or what, I was near the curb, and there is no pavement on the road we were joining. If dad hadn't shouting I would probably have turned into her, and you know the law, cyclists are always in the right :(

So I flew past her fast, hopefully it gave her a little scare ;)

Today some old timer drove almost under my car with bicycle, there is road repairing going on and there is big signs and fences, he came behind one of these 'walls', however I did slow down so now hitting anything, but quite close call. If I would not been cautious already there it would been sure hit.
