BMW E30 wheels onto 360

Afternoon guys & gals.

I've just bought these:

They're from a BMW E30, so I make that 57mm centre bore & ET of 25.

What do I need to do/get to get the wheels on & make them as safe as possible? People have told me different things - not to worry about a central adaptor, worry about a central adaptor, not to worry about the different in offset, worry about offset...

Not concerned at the moment about the difference on the speedo - the cable's snapped anyway so I might as well get the adjusted cable while I'm at it, as long as the car is driveable. Bearing in mind that it's a daily driver, needs to tow a caravan (yes, I know, I know, but the caravan was free!) and I'm not a nutty driver.

Hope I haven't made a mistake on the wheels - I did want alloys from an 850 or similar, like Mr Foggy has on his car, but these ones are close to me, have good tyres, plus I've seen them on another 300 (I think on ebay) and they looked quite good!

According to this page, the e30 has the same PCD at the 300, and I'd assume that being RWD, it would have a similar offset too, so that ought to be OK. For safety, I'd recommend getting a centre adaptor if the centre bore is different, as the wheel bolts are not designed to take the whole weight of the car.

centre adaptors or spigot rings as they are often called can be found on ebay or most places that sell alloy wheels

its basically a bit of plastic like a polo you need the outside diameter to be
57mm and the inner diameter to be 52.1mm iirc

hmm on 360's the rear is held on by bolts only so what difference does it make on the front ?

not on mine, the rear centres fit round the hub in the same way as the fronts, just less obviously as the hub doesn't stick out as much.

The Mk2 rear drum is flush

They will fit fine.
I would not worry myself about spigot rings on the front - no need at all on the rear. The off set is not correct but wont be a problem.

The only issue you may have is that if the car has been lowered ar the springs are week the tures will rub on top of the arch. The could be solved by going to 195 60 or 55 14's.

So the mk2 drum is flat, while the mk3 has a 'mound' to mate with the bore of the rim? Curious...

Put the wheels on in my lunch break, and they look great (IMHO, of course...) Only problem I had is that the Halfords pump I got as part of their breakdown set bent & broke after adding about 5psi on the first wheel!

I've got a couple of pics on my phone which I'd like to share, but I don't know where my adaptor is to load them onto my PC. Is there anyone around who's willing to put them on here if I send them over?

Slight rubbing noise from the LH front on medium-full lock. Seems to be quite close to the mudflap - could this be causing the problem?

Steering seems to be a little heavier with wider wheels (195 versus 175), but that's probably a good thing, as I'll be towing with the car.
