Not yet. Moving house (this weekend, woo hoo!!) has slowed things down a bit. And unfortunately some idiot has hit the bumper and put a little mark on it. Not severe, but it's waiting to go into the bodyshop to have it fixed. Then the cambelt needs doing and it'll be virtually ready.

I'm also considering selling my (red) one. With a mortgage now looming over my head, and soon to be living within a few miles of work I'm thinking the BX may not be the best option as a daily driver. Thinking of going back to a Swift GTi, or maybe something diseasal. We shall see.

Just to add my two pence (480 owner :P ) the 480 has a .92g sideways hehe. Don't buy a horrible over complicated citreon for handling when you can get similar figures without leaving the volvo Marque... sm87 You would have to be mad like me to do that though! I do enjoy the looks of teh old BX - I have always liked the concealed rear wheel. With regards to the Xantia my girlfriends Dad just got a turbo diesel. I admit the ride is very comfortable...if only I could take my nice supportive Volvo seats in it. The seats are a shambles!!!!

You've managed to get a 480 to corner with more than 0.0001g without understeering like an understeery thing??? Dude, you are a god!

I like the 480 (I had a Turbo very briefly last year), but I'm afraid I'd still take a V6 Xantia over it.

Stangely the seats in the BX are very comfortable and VERY supportive! One of the best seats I've had in a car I reckon, so dunno where they went wrong in the Xantia, as I've heard other people make the same sort of comments.

Definitely with everyone on the Xantia seats comments! A shambles sums it up quite well! After being used to 300 seats, to find my parents owning a Citroen and one with poor seats was a shock! Luckily I didn't have to endure the seats for many rides or for long as they saw sense and got another Volvo or three. The ride was faultless, and the diesel lump was pretty good, it was just the seats that really let it down.

They key is in good condition shocks and bushes. They handle awesome with them. When these get old though they tend to get sloppy! Only problem is sloppy isn't knackered so they don't fail MOT's so unless you are in the know you carry on with a 480 that won't go round roundabouts at speed without understeer. Fix these points and corners just get better and better! Oh and a turbo engine with the 170bhp Richmod to power out the other side compliments it beautifully!

Mick, are you still interested in this BX? I've got it squeezed into my garage at the moment, and I'm just trying to find time to get the cambelt done. Once it is she'll be up for sale. Before I put it up in the public domain, there's a couple of people I'm offering it to first, with you of course, being one of them.

I'm still tempted to keep it myself, as it's looking gorgeous, but I need the money back from it, so it's got to go.

Is your red car a GTi too, Carl?

Which red one? All our 'permanent' cars are red :)

If you mean my red BX, that's another 16v, so technically not a GTi. Early ones were GTi 16v, and later one's (like both of mine) were just 16v. GTis are the plain old 8v.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a BX geek

Well mint one's can go for over a grand, and scrap ones can easily get £300 due to the engine and box. The black one is in great condition, but not perfect (few stone chips, scratches - nothing serious). Once were done we'd probably be looking at around £800-£900 I'd guess. As for my red one, that's a difficult one - on the outside it's a bit shabby but I've done loads of work on the mechanicals (although it still needs more). If I decide to sell it I'd probably put it up for £600 I reckon.

Still havent decided what to do about it yet though. My head is telling me I should get rid of it, and either get something cheap to smoke around in, or get rid of the second car altogether and save lots of money by using the bus. My heart is telling me I'd regret it if I sold it, plus it's difficult to get such a quick car for the money I paid for it.
