There really isn't a shortcut, to be honest. If you try to bodge it, it'll bite you on the arse sooner or later. The yanks do +Ts, but they have drop-in turbo ECUs for the NA cars....which we don't have (except on LH2.4 cars).

how much is the compression( dont know if its the right word) in B19A? as I know a turbo engine should have a lower compression then a stock engine.

10:1? If you tune it right and run low boost pressure, compression is not a problem. You'll make more power per PSI with higher compression. Several guys in the US are running 15psi on 10.5:1 B21 engines.

B19A doesn't have 10 compression, B200K does. :P B19A has 8.5 compression ratio, so it is suitable for turbo use as it is.

For example most R-Sport kits didn't include pistons as it was meant to use with B19A, which already has low compression stock. Only later R-Sport kits meant for B230K included pistons also, which lowered compression ratio.

That low? Crikey! That's horribly low for NA.

Yeah stock B19A isn't an engine for people who are in hurry.. Can you imagine that we got the same engine option in 240 also. Not the fastest vehicle on the road.

Though it's a perfect base for sticking in a turbo if you don't need more displacement. Thick cylinder walls, strong rods and compression is good for turbo. :P

Yes it is indeed and it is not so crucial to get ignition precisely right as there is little more safe marginal with normal boost (under 1bar) than high compression ratio engines like B200.
