Interesting 1.4 turbo

Post by Fuse »

I found this at this Finnish car sale site

http://www.nettiauto.com/viewVehicle.php?id_car=999535

I wonder if it's the R5GTT engine, or has someone turboed the 1.4 block of the 340. :P

Yeah I don't like the looks either, too much "cheap ricey" stuff involved.. :P

There are not many specs said in the text, just that it is 1.4 turbo intercooler, 0.9 bar of boost (has tried 1.7, I wonder what he has done with the engine), front is lowered a bit and it has been his daily driver.

I see an engine pic now. Looks like a turbo strapped onto an adaptor on the end of the standard manifold, with a pressure box around the standard carb. In other words...a turbocharged standard engine.

cheers

That fan doesn't look anything like the one I had on my 1.4 though, looks viscous to me. Really is true bodgery at its best!

I think they went straight from directly coupled (to the water pump) to e-fan on the B14 cars.
