I'm with you on that...the rear suspension might be 'rustic', but it is very well set up (for what it's intended to do).

it doesnt do what the porsche weissach suspension does , that was a bush that allowed different suspension geometry , if you ever picked a de dion axle up , youll know it aint light , and im suprised nobody has offered a decent 4 bar and panhard or watts linkage to replace it , made from lighter material . it could be done for not much money - but i suppose most people manage with the leaf springs etc etc .

this would allow a decent coil over conversion/ disc brake at the same time .

TBH I have never liked leave springs - but with a little experimenting I have found that the rear end set up is quite good on the back of the 3. THe important thing imo is to put a little more weight over the axle good dampers and tyres that actualy stick. :D
