13" steel wheels / any 300 wheels

Post by Sam340 »

As above I am looking to buy a couple of sets of steel / alloy wheels that will fit a 300 preferably 13".

Just need them to use for drifting so I can put all my tyres on before i go to an event.

Currently I have only got 1 set of 13inchers.
Anything you have / wanna get rid of let me know

Cheers!

two have very good tyres , the other two are certainly not legal
( I suppose that dosen't really matter for drifting though )

Not to try and ruin your sale Mick, but I'd be wary of using rims thatdo not have the correct hub sizing as you are putting all the strain onto the (only 4) wheel bolts. For ordinary use this may be ok, but when subjected to the extra torsional forces of drifting I feel it may be a recipe for disaster.

I have a set of said 13 inch steel rims, including the black spare (well its painted black) with Michelin Energy Tyres on them, with the treds being about 2.5mm on 2 and 4mm on the other 2, with the spare coming in at 3mm (but that's a Firestone). Even have the wheel trim covers for covering the bolts (totally useless for your purpose but well you know).

If your bolts are tightened down correctly it won't matter if the centre hub is the right size or not, all the strain is always taken by the bolts and the pressure that they put between the wheel and the hub. correct size hub or spigot rings are usufull for getting the wheel centred though.

Ahh northern ireland could be a problem... god knows how much it would cost to send wheels from there!

Thanks anyway but I reckon it will start to cost a bit with postage etc :D

I know a number of guys that have wheels with the wrong centre bore (and no spigot rings) that use them for ralling and other hard useage and have not had a problem.

The main strain in drifting is just starting to get the wheels spinning after that the strain is reduced. In fairness drifting is not by a long way the most brutal copetition use you can put a car to.
