It will normally cut out, if not use loads of petrol because it would be running too rich. I have in the past done this myself and the car as it has warmed up just stalled.

Its never stalled on me if I've left the choke on by accident...

Tick over will be much higher, and as stated, the car will run too rich which doesn't do it much good. (Causes carbon deposits). Nothing serious though.

well on my 1.7 it makes it slow :P

makes it use a million tons of fuel

spells horrible

makes my exhaust sutty

stops second butterfly opening

makes spark plugs black

err what else...

ohh and it makes it make lots of noise.

how do i know all this? well my choke stuck on for a 120mile drive

why didnt i fix it there and then? becouse it was a emergency. :(

i dont think anything is damaged apart from my wallet..used 3/4 of a tank to do that distance....

yeah, using choke costs a lot of petrol, hence I have never forgotten to push mine in as soon as possible, but it shouldn't do anything major other than carbon fouling, though depending on various factors, it could stall from over fuelling.
