now it has four wheels again I am selling my golf .

its a 1989 1.6 driver auto 5 door

looks like a GTi without the insurance costs
its got power steering ,
a scorpion stainless exhaust system,
K+N filter element ,
has only done about 2,000 miles since a full service including plugs, leads,oil , filter, fuel filter rear brake rebuild and front brake upgrade
( power disc vented and grooved discs and GTi pads )
autobox serviced last month (new fluid , filter and gaskets )

mot 'd til October

84,100 miles on the clock

Vario with power steering - PRICELESS

LOL! Like it! I've got a 340 vario with PAS! That looks pretty neat as they've used a proper Volvo reservoir. Super clean engine bay too.

... and seem to have bolted it to the heater box rather than the strut top 'cos the spare wheel's in the way. Did they come that way from the factory or was that an aftermarket option?

Almost certainly aftermarket. I don't know of any 340's with PAS from the factory. Mine is also attached to the heater box, guess people think it's the best place, and as you say, even if they had the bracket, in a 340 the spare wheel is in the way!
