Early volvo 343 345 engine wanted

Hi does anyone has an early volvo 343 or 345 engine that i can fit to my DAF, i have just killed mine with a dodgy thermostat and looking for another and i would love to fit the 1.4 into it.

I do have a 1.3 about.

If you are realy after a 1.4 does it matter what age car it is from?

hi that's good news more info!!,
i have heard that the early 343's blocks are diferent to the later 1.4 ones, in that the bell housing will not match up, i dont know if that is true i have owned a few 340's and 345's but have never extracted an engine from one. i know some of the guys in holland fit 343 engines to there dafs but i dont know about the 340's, besides getting tempted to have ago at fitting the hole lot including the 5 speed box!

As far as I know the bellhousings are the same. I could try and have look at one of the 66's to compare.

The idea of the 5 speed sounds good but if I were to do it it would have to be in comination with either a 16 valve red block or turbo conversion.
