Used the book for guidance only - had to design from scratch to ensure everything works. Should be more evenly balanced than a "7".

I will be using the standard but shortened prop and splines to start with as I will be using an unmodified engine. If things get uprated then I will need to rethink.

That was the idea, especially just to get it up and running.

For the future, I have a spare prop and locally we have an excellent propshaft specialist to get the job done properly.

it may well be that you can find some cv joints that fit the gearbox splines , and manufacture the prop that way .

my initial thought was to weld and pin some flanges onto the shafts to make a prop as i intended to use this layout ,, but my reasoning was of space , prop, and ability to get a LSD

Thanks for the tip,

I have some other ideas, but did not want to go down the welding-to-the-splines route if I can help, the welding and balancing would need to be perfect.

it doesnt have to be that perfect .

i used to work at robin hood , you migfht know me if you follow locostbuilders.co.uk , and certainly RH had a balancing machine - the weights were never spot on and never caused a vibration problem .

Finally the car now goes under its own power. I managed to capture the moment, but I had to use the digi camera as the battery for the video camera was flat

The quality is a bit naff, but I couldn't wait to try it (I was like a kid at christmas)
