Basically the engine will bolt in, however turbo manfold wont clear brake servo so a new one requires fabbing up. Obviously with exhaust to suit.
Oh the standard 1.4 fuel lines are 6mm feed and 4mm return IIRC, so they may need changing.
The only other prob you may have is a clutch to take the power.
As in my 16v 340 i am using clutch components from 3 diff cars to make my own hybrid clutch, although similar, none could be used on the 1.4 lump.

Adam has pretty much said it all. The exhaust manifold kills it for me. Although the GTT motor is a cool little engine, it's now in a much heavier car than a R5, and I suspect that many of the big-power ones out there exist because there's a wealth of knowledge and experience, rather than that there's anything too amazing about the engine.

Someone ought to do it (well....Frits is well along with it...but someone else too!) just because it's cool....but I'm not convinced it's the ideal engine for a 300.

cheers

I think you'll need to use a Volvo-specific disc. A good clutch place should be able to make you a suitable hybrid if you take them a 340 disc (for the centre) and a GTT disc (as a pattern for the friction material & diameter).

You could do a trial fit of the standard GTT clutch with a 1.4 clutch output shaft. I have a spare one you can have...it's bent on the prop side, but it'll do for a fitment test.

cheers

Hi Nick

Here you have the link to my topic.

You also need to change the sump, and a few more things.
