You sure? As far as I thought, E30 fit E36.... and E36 is most definately 5stud. Nick will be a good answer on this, his housemate has an E30 ;)

Yes

It's only the E30 M3 that had the 5 stud wheels according to this:

Ah, well thats novel... I thought the big pile of basket weaves in our garden were from an E30... but as housemate Rich has bought them for his E36, I'm guessing not!

Hey guys, been looking into a set of spigot rings myself.

I've got a set of mini revolutions on mine which the wheel bore is too big. I decided I wanted some because over 70ish mph the car stats juddering so natural reaction I went and got the wheels all balanced up. As the guy was putting the wheels back on the car he noticed the play and told me I needed spigot rings and that will solve my wheel juddering problems.

Reckon it will or not? If not, what other causes can be causing my car to judder??

Would be interested tofind out if people decide to get a bulk batch of spigots made up. Will the centre bores be the same on my revo's as the golf wheels etc??

The other problem you will have with your wheels is they are 1.6mm out on the PCD to volvo wheels.
You will need wobble bolts is it?
never used them myself.

Just out of interest....was that the car from eBay, Mr Ricatron? ;)

Either way, treat it well...those early cars are getting very, very rare. I've only seen 3 for sale in the past year.

cheers

yeah guys my 343 was the yellow one on ebay :D how many people bid against me? common own up........ :D

its lovely, i know it looked a bit rough in places but its really not!

body is sweet and now the wheels are painted as is the bumper.

i will show some pics after a trip this weekend.

with it being a true classis i cant decide to lower it or not? and if i should put the e30 wheels on it?

to all those who want to know: e30's are all 4 stud except the m3 which is 5. lots of people put e36 suspension on and then they can use the e36 5 stud wheels.

at the weekend i will see if the 15 inch wheels fit just to find out 8)

Yup, I asked Rich about the basket weaves in the garden, they are indeed not from an e30, but a 5 series of some flavour! Just remember the rolling radius of an e30 is loads more than that of the 300, so the tyres will probably need to be changed to something lower profile.

this is going to sound stupid but if the rolling diameter changes all round it should not be a problem right?

i know that on a 4 wheels drive the rolling diameter needs to be the same for both the front and back or it will cause excess damage to the centre dif.

but it should not be a problem if all four are changed? right? or am i wrong?

it may effect acceleration and top end though, please correct me if im wrong.

Spot on,

As long as the wheels on the driving axel ( the rear in this case ) the diff will be ok.

it would be ok for short distance (i.e used as a spare tyre) but deffinate diff destroyer on an LSD/welded diff

yeah for a rear drive the rear wheels can be bigger than the front but i would not like that on a road car.

if all four are the same size and fit under the arches we are fine :)

tbh i may stay with the steels as they look great i just want some spacers for the front and keep the back nice and narrow

No problem at all - it's just like altering the diff ratio a bit. The only issue really is that the speedo will mis-read.

I didn't bid.....but I did try to find out of the guy would sell privately at the very start of the auction. I bought a very similar car myself a couple of months ago, so I decided I shouldn't be greedy ;)

PICS! ;)

cheers

I've just found out Mk1's have a random single leaf rear suss set up, i.e. yank tank... any chance of some pics of that to?!
