i have an anoying rattle when reving up
it sounds like valve clearence rattle however i have checked this and there all ok
the sound is comin from the bell housing area its not the clutch
the only thing i can see near it is the exhaust heat shield for the down pipe

not sure if this is way off the track, but i owned a Holden Rodeo - i think this is an Isuzu Passport for you guys... and had a noise as you describe. In it's case it was the airconditioning compressor clutch which had failed.

do you have A/C and has it failed?

Currenlty unroadworthy, plenty-o-rust and
missing bits. Maybe Feb '05 on the road.

one of your exhaust mountings is snapped. should be black rubber. might be further back than your expecing (level with the b pillar maybe). replace. cost £5

If its quite loud then it could be as 5lab said, an exhaust mounting rubber which I've picked up for £2. What engine is it? My 360 has rattled at exactly 2000rpm for years. I've never been able to track it down and it still runs fine.
