DONT GO NEAR THE WATER!

I could nt work out why my '88 GLT only had an electric window on the drivers side and a manual one on the passenger side, Thought to start with that this might have been some weird option or something .Then today I found out the truth. When the car was a year old it was resold to an elderly couple. Apparently the wife refused to take the car unless the dealer fitted a manual window winder on the passenger side because she didnt trust her husbands driving and wanted to be able to open the window and get out in case he fell asleep and drove into a river

This story came from the lady I bought the car from. She bought the car from the elderly couple

It could only happen to a Volvo!!!

That's an excellent one! I think there should be an updated brochure with an option for manual passenger windows for elderly couples, option - Manual window winder passenger side for untrusting wives! Pete

I'm surprised she didn't ask for a passenger steering wheel! (Is that possible?) Aren't elderly people fab? None of that newfangled electronic nonsense...
