Volvo 343 '81 front wing OEM number

Post by volvo300 »

Hi.

I'm about to buy some front wings for my future Volvo 343 '81, and I have found someone with a pair of original front wings!
I don't have the car yet, and I don't know if the wings fit's a '81?

Does anyone here have this kind of info?
I'm looking for the OEM numbers for:

- LH front wing up to 1981
- RH front wing up to 1981

Thanks in advance.
Peter

Hi Dai.

I've managed to find a Volvo partnumber on the RH front wing -1981: 3277530!

I've also found a picture, and I can also see the difference between the 1981 wing and the '82- front wing! Huge difference actually!
Here is the link to the pics: http://www.refako.dk/index.php?cPath=9_ ... 0&tPath=42

Thanks for the reply anyway.

Regards.

Glad you got that sorted.
The Mk1 front wing is shorter in that there is no peak over the indicator lamp.
The Mk2 has the peak and a hole for the side repeater.
The MK3 has teh peak and no hole for the side repeater.

I need some front wings for a 1980 343 which has currently has the wrong wings

I see the earliest type wings dont have cut outs for indicator. maybe I'll try to post some pics of the "wrong" wings on my car... :)

thing I need to find some danish translation websites.

Volvo numbers for front wings early types:

First type of wing (no repater indicator holes) up to chassis 387999
Left hand wing 3267553-0
Right hand wing 3267554-8

Second type of wing (with repeater indicator holes) from chassis 388000
Left hand wing 3277530-6
Right hand wing 3277531-4

Hope this is of some help (I suspect the dash (-) and the last digit are not significant)

I'd be happy to relieve anyone of a left hand wing of either of the above!

Hi Alex.

I've managed to find 3 front wings here in Denmark, two RH wings and one LH wing!
The wings are the MK-I type without indicator holes!
My question is "Do they fit a 343 from 1981 with indicator holes? Is is possible to fit the wings and then make a indicator hole?"

It's just that these front wings are rare and difficult to find!

thanks guys for the pics! seems we have some more 343 owners on the site now :) welcome!
Im looking for the early wings with indicator holes. I think my car has been fitted with early facelifted 340 wings as they hang down too low below the bumper.

pics to follow :)
Enjoy your 300s

76 and 77 have no side indicatorlight. 79, 80 and 81 have it for sure. Don;t know 78 for shore...

My 77 has the indicatorlights. Not correct, but like the safety of it

I still need a left one for my 79...

Peter

You will be able to fit the wings and then make the indicator holes afterwards. You may be better making the holes and rustproofing behind before you fit them.

Good luck with the purchase!

Are there many 340s to be seen on the roads in Denmark? I'm amazed at the speed with which they have disappeared from the UK!

Hi Alex.

That sounds good! So the only difference between the MK-I first type wing and the MK-I second type wing is the indicator hole!

And sadly no, the 300 series are also rare here in Denmark :(
Once there was a lot of them driving around, but new MOT rules killed nearly everyone of them

That's a shame, but that makes my GLT and future R-sport even more fun to drive!

Thanks for all the answers regarding my "front wing" question!
That has helped me a lot :D

Regards.
