Fitting b230 to engine stand

Post by Jason B »

Hi,

Looking to attach my b230fb to an engine stand and was just wondering what the bellhousing bolts were? If not , what bolts have other used to perform the task.

Thanks

Erm, don't quote me, but I think they are an M12....... could be very wrong. I bought the bolts ages ago, so my memory is none too fresh! I still haven't put mine on the stand, it's sat on the engine crane, up on some wood spanning the legs so it's still mobile!

I'm fairly sure sure they are M12 as well.

I've built my own engine stand out of box and using part of a 240 front crossmember. That way I cont bolt it down using the engine mounts and its easy to fit the gearbox on for 2's and 7's that way.

Cool, I think I'll scout for some m12s when I get time. Then the fun begins :D need to sort out lots of parts still though and fully determine my aspirations for the project.

I found the machine mart whirely one easier, as I could spin the engine to get to the sump, and check the big ends, but I did have to put it on the crane to put the flywheel/clutch/bellhousing on, but that only took a morning luckily!

Hahaha.. noes... the engine was on the stand for about 10 months!
Off the stand, flywheel on, clutch on, bellhousing on was the morning, then engine into the car was the afternoon!

Sump and all the other bits had been done in the before I took it off the stand.
