Clutch slipping

Post by Nikdev »

Hello!
Lately I have got this problem that then clutch is slipping, read the Haynes and the pedal was to long. So i adjusted the cable and it got a lot better and the pedal is at is recommended 15cm height.

But still there is a slight clutch slip, noticed when accelerating in fifth gear up hills.. What is wrong?

I cant Se the clutch is so tired yet because the car has just covered 110`km (but it has had a welded diff for the last 10`km..)

My car is a late 360(86)

If it is clutch slip. then only options are that either tired clutch cover or is it pressure plate or it could be worn clutch plate.

does sound like clutch as with a welded diff it will put alittle more strain on the clutch

well mechanic changed the bolt for 2 days. untill my replacement bell housing came through the post!

basicaly one end of the release fork is connected tot he cluthc cable, the other end is stoped from pivoting too far by a bolt that goes tot he outside of the bell housing, on minet hat bolt had managed to wear the release fork so that the bolt could slip through. nought you can do really. espesially as no one makes them any more.

I would say it is the clutch on the way. Not sure what you can use to uprate but I do recomend not to use cheap replacment ones as they often do not last very long
