What does the book say. Manufacturers spend a lot of time testing various items for their engines and what they recomend is probably the best way to go. On the other hand i'm a big fan of the Bosch Super 4 plugs. They really do improve the cold start performance

maybe they got better?^ things seem to work much better and can last much longer nowadays, just look at the differnce in oil! it lasts, stays cleaner longer and even stops the engine seizing used to have to change it a lot more! and it would still let the engine wear as it moved away from the metel/pieces incontact.
also super 4's people that dont like them dont like them becouse a, they cost more and b, they have never tryed them.
Cheers

1988Don't get me started... I think theres a thread on here in the depths with me ranting about super 4's. The only advantage they have is slower wear rate!germ wrote:also super 4's people that dont like them dont like them becouse a, they cost more and b, they have never tryed them.
EDIT: Thats not to say they are bad, just don't believe half the hype people will try to have you belive with them.

The super 4's can give very slight (1 - 3 BHP) power increas but I keep well clear of them for a number of reasons.Chris_C wrote:Don't get me started... 1) I have known them to fail as in not work out of the box
2) missfire problems
3) over prices
4) Does not work with LPG

sorry i dont know why i get so... set on getting a point over its only sparky plugs any way... i guess
but i do believe them to be better than splitfire plugs and other so called "power boosters" the main thing with the 4's is that they are silver plated (which is the best conducter
) platnum isnt that great for conducting but lasts, copper is good also!
volvo ones are good, reliable etc, i have found that any make of plugs can not work when you get them, they may have been droped or any thing.
Cheers
