Friends of the Volvo 300

Post by petefarrell360 »

Before I became a member of this forum, the only 300 owners club or information source I found was the Friends of the Volvo 300 club, which I became a member of in 2003. It's an excellent organisation, run by George Mitchell from Dunblane.

Anyway, I received the magazine that the organisation produces this morning, and I was pleased to see a contribution from another member of both 300 series clubs, Foggy James, who sent in the following article reporting the success of our V3M meet at Gaydon in October.

I spoke to George this evening, and anyone who wishes to join the FOTV3 can do so by contacting him on 01768 824740. If all goes to plan, and the details of our next meet are confirmed before the deadline for the next FOTV3 magazine, George can print the details and the two organisations can have a combined meet, then hopefully we will have an even bigger attendance.

Well done James, good work, and also well done to George and the hardwork he and other members put into producing the FOTV3 magazine.

Thanks Pete for the scan, I was happy to read James article, well done!

I've heard about that organisation a couple of time now but I can't really realize how many people are involved there, when it was created, what the project is etc etc...

We have to discuss again about the next meeting, good idea to have people from V3M + FOTV300!

I can't remember or currently find how many members there are, James may know. It was founded in 2000, and is an organisation for the owners of all Volvo 340, 343, 345, and 360 models worldwide. As you're aware, they produce a magazine, which is full of stories relating to 300 models, letters and correspondence, such as James', adverts for cars and parts, technical advice and information and anything regarding the Volvo 300. They can help in finding parts and can also get some discount on some items to help preserve the models.

Is it an 'official' organisation with a 'legal status' like the dutch V300 club? Or just enthusiast people together like here?
