Bleeding the Front Shock absorbers

Post by WooDooUK »

I have just changed the oil in my front shocks (EP80 Gear Oil) and the initial results were promising not quite as stiff as i was hoping but i guess just changing the oil only goes so far with the standard valves.

Anyway after driving the car i have noticed that under heavy breaking the car dives to the right. I bleed the shocks repeatedly before i put them in but i guess they werent quite the same.

So any one got any tips for bleeding them before i take them out and try again?

Try pushing the piston all the way in as you fit them, so you arnet pressurising them when they first compress, also from memory they arent very full when i have drained them in the past.

yeah, they are about half full iirc (though I wasn't paying much attention, as I had no intention of putting fluid back in them  )
