hi there

interesting find! I guess vans are less likely to survive due to their harder life. Is this car advertised on a version of ebay? how long to go??

Lovely parts chaser.

You could easily get a similar effect by spray painting the rear windows 8)

Marktplaats is like ebay, without the bidding. U just name your price, and people take it or leave it...Just heard the owner wants 2500 for it...Now thats quite a bit of money

Indeed. A great drift car too, as the rear seats have already been removed

Here's a pic from the V3C site of a bloke doing his back in:

... and a V3M thread on the car:

The bidding ends when the seller is happy with the price of the highest bidder and has made contact. Basically, you just type in what you're prepared to pay. If the deal falls through, he contacts the next highest bidder etc...

It's always better to just contact the seller and name your price. That way you keep the price low... Bidding only raises the price.

hi,

I'm currently trying to see if the curator of the Volvo museum in Arendal, Goteborg is willing to buy this for volvo's collection. I dont think they have a van and this vehicle would fit nicely with the recently added 340 estate, cabriolet, 440 estate, 480 targa, 480 cabiro and other interesing vehicles (maybe the first V30 based on the S40/V40?) previously stored in Volvo BV HQ. I dont think 2500 euro is a lot for volvo to pay...if the seller really wants that much. It's a bit too much for me.

A joint purchase by V3M and V300 club holland for the museum maybe?? :) :)

would be nice to see this preserved in the museum I think given its condition

I agree with you entirely. An extremely rare variant, the few vans sold were probably run into the ground within the space of a few years.

This example is one of the very first - the "MkII Phase 1" - even the steering wheel is original: the DAF sourced item fitted only to the very basic, early 300s ...

Maybe if I get round to it I'll post up a scan, I've got two brochures of the van: one like this one and one from a Mk III ...

Tom

PS Maybe we should add a second "PayPal Donate" Button on the site for cases like this ;-)

hello

yes please, it would be interesting to see the brochures.

That is a good point about the vehicle, it is indeed a mk 2 with mk 1 interior which in itself makes it an interesting model. Vans are interesting in themselves but the fact this one is so good is very cool!!

Potentially, do you think we could try to raise some funds in a few volvo clubs, 300 clubs etc to help out volvo with their purchase?

Current price is 650 euros which isnt so high but the owner wants 2500!!

I cant afford it unfortunately but I'd like to see it preserved with the other 300 series they have
