Welcome back! I remember reading some of your posts when researching AC and electric mirror conversions ... Some useful info there!

Before doing that I'd fit self-cancelling indicators. Or a fuel pumpjtbo wrote:wouldn't that be tad same as adding electric leather seats to Trabi?![]()

Can't wait for pics

No I gave it a thought and 66 does not need leather seats...

Renault Clio alternator/ac compressor bracket, modified heater box for evaporator, switch, drier, pressure switch, idle compensating valve, recirculation flap+vacuum valve...pretty simple with thorough planning.
A LOT of work and measuring to do. Not too much space, underrated radiator and lots of more things to overcome.
I have a volvo 8 stereo 8-track FM radio for the car too with leccy aerial
ATS aluwheels or minilite etc etc etc...don't need to worry where my pennies will go.

Yup...it was gone. I bought it blind and transported to Finland. They say when you start to go crazy it mainly affects your head
I will take care of it. I already made the brakes and the engine. The variomatic needs new secondary gears. Car is currently at the paint job. There were a few dings and dents to recover.
The car was not driven after may 1990. So it needed a little waking up to start rolling again.
Anyone know if the vario belts are interchangable between 66/300? Or if the secondary vario unit is the same?

The belts are different. I know as Pete had some belts of me for his 300 but they turned out to be 66 ones. The 66 ones are a little shorter.
Very nice 66. I would love a 66 to modify but with them not being tax free I dont think I will.

Well I have whole winter to think how I do it.
Luckily I'm not famous of giving up easily
The condenser unit doesn't have to be in front of radiator. Also new evaporators are really small. Just looked at smart fortwo's ac components and they'd fit in the bucket...
I'm planning to actually fit condenser in the front wing with it's own electric fan and fresh air channels.
Compressor can be mounted to chassis with spring tensioned pulley wheel.
There's a lot of room actually for creative innovations.
I already have the GT camshaft. I might toss out the spare wheel and put in dual webers. Headers are also available with a lot of TLC.
One problem is that I want the car to pass historic vehicle checks and they might say something if it's a twin carb

Dai, I think those belts were from a Daf 33, which is different, the 66 and 300 belts are the same as far as I know.
Good luck with it, should be a very nice car when you're done!

I think it should pass the historic vehicle inspection as long as the parts used are similiar parts which were used back then. It also depends quite a lot of the inspector who checks the car what he allows.Tero Huikko wrote: One problem is that I want the car to pass historic vehicle checks and they might say something if it's a twin carb
