I have only just realised this car started life as a 340, not a 360!

Nice one! Didn't really need that much extra width.

I'm not aware it did start as a 340, John? Mark used to have a red 340 1.7, which (IIRC) he crashed and replaced with this 360, which (again, IIRC) a guy called Andy (who at least used to be on the VOC) had fitted the 16v to, and done the brake master stuff. IIRC, Mark fitted the coilovers, Corrado G60 brakes, then finally got 90% of the way to turbocharging it before he realised he didn't use it enough and wanted to move on. There was probably more along the way...but those are the main bits I remember.

cheers

Lack of wheel well? I believe it was cut out and a blanking plate or section from a 340 welded in. I'm almost certain Kev Strong did that to his, and I think Mark did the same.

cheers

Yeah, that and the tank I bought off it was a 340 one.

The enquiry is complete
The vehicle details for E374 SOH are:

Date of Liability 01 11 2009
Date of First Registration 13 10 1987
Year of Manufacture 1987
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 2316CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status SORN Not Due
Vehicle Colour WHITE
Vehicle Type Approval null

Inconclusive as it's been registered as 2.3. James you could easily be right about the boot floor being changed, but why would the original builder weld one in without removing the sound deadening?
Maybe the same reason he didn't fit the cage properly?

Car is 360, spare wheel well has been removed and replaced with alloy plate. There is no sounddeadning around spare wheel well..

hey joni looking good, nice to see you going full hog on the gearbox, its good to see loads of space still left

the car has allways been a 360, the fuel tank was changed to a 340 one for weight and practicality purposes as on the track the kidney shaped 360 one was shite and fuel pickup meant the engine was cutting out. the 340 one lowered and added more weight to the rear of the car which was getting light, to facilatate this i cut out the spare wheel well and bolted on a flat peice of steel. As for the roll cage wtf was wrong with that, it was fitted fine, it came from the manufacturer short so i had to weld on extension pieces for it to fit the car. dont start shouting about what you dont know filthyjohn :!:

Understood about the tank, my mistake.
As for the cage, I'm no expert but I reckon it could have been fitted better. That's just an opinion and I don't mean to imply anything negative.
