If it sounds too good to be true............................

Post by volvosneverdie » 13 Dec 2008 07:41 pm

Tale of Xmas Woe:

Same old story like, nothing new.

Spied a nice cheeky bargain going on the site that cannot be named, and decided to take a punt.

Im no mug, so checked the lads feedback and found lots of recent trade and lots of recent and good feedback from one and all. Satisfied customers from all over the land, purchasing goods expensive and cheap so all looked well and true.

Had a late, low bid and won.
Delighted.

paid up, arranged delivery for fri via courier and sat down with a nice big smile on me dial.

FRIDAY.
No wheels.
hmmmmmmmmm.
To the internet!

 :x     :(

Got me good and propper.

Paypal'll stump up the refund eventually, so all'll be well that ends well.
But just goes to show, you can be as carefull as you like and some crafty dodger can still stick you in the trouser pocket.

You all already know to beware well enough I recon.
just wanted a whinge.

were sold as - mx5, starlight, drift, jap, drift, minilite - in the title. Good catch-all i suppose.
other gear was assorted car parts, bike clothing (def a leathers set and rainproof jacket) , and if i remember right, a quad. Yam banshee? bits and pieces. an a couple of big monies. what youd expect from an honest mover.

sounding familiar like?

Mebbe check JapNorthEast or any local bike forums, most people use the same ID on multiple forums.

He bought this Rover,

and didn't sell it (at least not on *b*y), so if you see it about ram it off the road and ask questions L8R.

Bad luck Ben,

Hopefully you'll get your money back - if PayPal don't come up with the goods you should be able to use the small claims court to get the auction site to release his real identity and address so you can pursue him.

Pete

Yeah, Im on that now Pete. thanks for your help and concern.
TBH it was only 60 quid and 35 courier i paid, but I'd set my heart on them. And you shouldnt sell your integrity for a hundred pound really should you?

if its an honest problem, ebay or paypal will contact him and he'll sort it out nicely like a gentleman, as i think any of us would.

if not, I've got an address now from a lad that bought a micra off him (cheers Watson) so i'll have a run up to cumbria and catch him for a quiet word.

Hi lads.
Iknow it would be great to give this b*****d a good kicking, but just stop and think for a sec. If he can prove it was you,he could have you for thousands and you could end up with no job.Be carefull, thats all.
Cheers Mark.

Cheers MCHUDD.
You are, of course, quite right.

But ive found knocking on someones door and asking loudly and politely for what youre owed is far more effective than any amount of emails etc.

But I agree with you 100 percent.

last resort and only ever in self defense.

f$&king annoying when someone does this, I got had a while back on another forum by someone who seemed genuine enoughand then disappeared off the face of the earth... unluckily for him the spies were already at work and I got his address... it was also the address of his parents  - one nice letter addressed to "the householder" and I have a feeling he may be in a bit of trouble with mum and dad, and it looks like I may be getting my money back :D
