Re: Volvo 360 GLT Body Kit
Good luck with selling the 360.
You cant really go wrong with an S40. I had one for a few months before I emigrated, to replace my MoT-failure Discovery. They're pretty much a rebadged Mitsubishi Charisma. Mine was an s-plate 1.6XS - fairly underpowered, but got me where I needed to go, and did exactly what I asked of it. Not a bad car for 700quid, and looked even better when I put the T4 alloys on it!

Re: Volvo 360 GLT Body Kit
Yeh, I'm starting to get used to the s40. I have an R reg 1.8 (16 valve - although I assume all the 1.8s are) and it feels ok. Good hold and similar power to my 360. I'm not too fond of all the computers and sensors though. I like to do work myself on cars and for some things the dealership need to plug in their computer. Need to get a keyfob reprogrammed and it's going to cost me upwards of £40 for half an hour of work. Might keep my eye out for some alloys on ebay.whiskeyonesix wrote:Good luck with selling the 360.

Re: Volvo 360 GLT Body Kit
My offer for the bodykit is still there
If you make a price of 600 for the car without bodykit (normale price I think), you have even more in total

Re: Volvo 360 GLT Body Kit
I wouldnt've said a bodykit makes that much difference to overall price, the last bodykit that sold on ebay sold for about £60
1989 - Volvo 360 GLT
1985 - Volvo 360 GLS
2008 - Volvo S60 SE Lux
1985 - Volvo 360 GLS

Credit crunch UK Ebay? If it had been anywhere whithin easy transportation distance to the Netherlands it would have been a different storySteveP wrote:I wouldnt've said a bodykit makes that much difference to overall price, the last bodykit that sold on ebay sold for about £60

Still, if the car is good it seems a shame to remove the kit. Then you have a half decent car with drill holes in the bodywork. Whether the drop in value is worth what you get for the bodykit is anyone's guess.

Re: Volvo 360 GLT Body Kit
Im with Tom there.
Surely be better to keep it together as a package.
Origonality does count for a bit when youre selling a nice car. And this DOES look very nice.
Then again, its absolutley up to the seller!
I'd love a bodykit for my mark two, but id hate to try and sell it with boltholes all over it, and no bodykit!

Re: Volvo 360 GLT Body Kit
If you have a very well equipped scruffy car, it's definitely worth removing the valuable bits, selling them seperately and cashing in on the scrap value. But a nice car with nice extras - keep it in one piece, I'm sure it makes financial sense (and it'd be nice if a few decent well-equipped 300s were left for the "next generation").
In a nutshell, you've got several types of people buying 300s:
#1 scrap metal merchants
#2 Learner drivers looking for a cheap car
#3 Learner drifters looking for a cheap car
#4 Enthusiasts looking for a cheap V300
#5 Enthusiasts with a little bit of pocket money looking for a well-equipped good V300
Drifters with lots of pocket money buy a Skyline.
Enthusiasts with lots of pocket money buy a Maserati.
If you have time and aren't too desperate for the money, try and hang in there till buyer number five comes along
But I'm with Ben, of course you can do as you wish ...

Re: Volvo 360 GLT Body Kit
Hey guys,
You're right, I'd like to keep the body kit with the car. Don't fancy trying to sell a car with rivet holes lol. I'm actually having a really hard time selling it, I've got a real emotional bond with this car. Doubt I'll ever find another like this. It may not be showroom condition but it's tidy, solid and has loads of extras.
I always planned to take it touring through Europe, it is a GLTourer after all lol. If it doesn't sell I might do that as a holiday this summer. Anyone else been on any adventures with their 300's?
Cheers for looking

Re: Volvo 360 GLT Body Kit
Dude, I really think you should keep it.
Youre going all misty eyed at the mere thought of letting it go.
Got big plans for touring too.
Hopefully this summer all being well.

I'll list off the top of my head,J340GLT wrote:what extras does it have mate??
Front fogs
econometer
sunroof
electric windows (front)
power steering
body kit
alarm
alloys
That's all I can think of right now. Think they were all options anyway.
I know, the temptation to keep it is strong.
