Sounds like your carb needs a good tune up. This is a Mk2 with the Strom?

Yeah mate it is a mk2 with Stromberg CD175 type carb. I was hoping that the spare carb would work better but I guess it was set up for another engine. It seems OK if I just plod along - especially when up to temp. I now have a small pair of mole grips clamping the choke cable to the carb :lol:

I will PM filthyjohn and see if he and his mate are free this weekend and hopefully we can suss the problem!

PM recieved and replied. I hope we can help, might have a look for some MTB brake cables if we can't sort your choke cable out.
