I decided to remove the rear mudflaps today as one of them had started to look really untidy and it broke off anyway after I accidentally reversed into a high kerb. Do you think it looks better?
Sorry for the crappy photo quality. I think there's something wrong with the ol' Konica..
That Transit Connect, in case you're wondering, is my dad's, and it's shit off a shovel.
(Bloody ugly though)

I think I remember Carl saying that mine got melted when he overheated the brakes So mine has no rear mudflaps.. and gets absolutely filthy muck thrown up the back of the car all the time, ie. A load of grass from Gaydon when turning round in their car park I may fit some.. but do I really want to get involved with nuts and bolts that have had mud flung at them for 15 years?! I'd definitely want Volvo ones to fit the contour of the rear valance section properly.
Personally, I think the mud flaps look quite good, and it's noticeable how much dirt they deflect from the body work. I have one missing on the o/s front, so on that side there's often dirt and mud all up the sill and door, however the other side is as pretty clean due to the mudflap, despite being closer to the gutter and rubbish. As jtbo says, it will save your paintwork from stonechips. They are too easily removed by accident if you reverse over high kerbs etc, and my rear mudflaps make a nice noise as they drag in some multistorey car parks due to the steep ramps!

I bought a pair brand new in the Summer - I guess it's whatever you're not used to! Max Power tend to tell you to remove mudflaps, so I guess they're not very bling...

You clear your car?! Mines not been washed in over 2 years
I've removed the mud flaps on my car too after the rears were damaged.
Good policy, frankly it rains so much in this country that all you have to do is park it outside. Let nature do the rest. I think I've still got the mudflaps on my car. The thing that gets damaged the most on mine is the front number plate. Two in two years, OOPS.
