NEED HELP A.S.A.P!! gearbox ....

Post by Scottyj »

Hi,

Ive just re filled my diff and geabox with oil and there is a small hole in near where the diff and the gearbox join that seems to be leaking. Is it an overflow or do i have a problem?

Cheers

Scott

Without seeing, I would say that it is a problem, there is no overflow that I would know of.

The overflow is the filling hole itself, at both the diff and gearbox.
If it leaks through the gasket between the diff and gearbox, you have a problem.

Its near the diff/gearbox connector but not the join itself.

its like a small square hole. Looks factory (even and everything)

Is it a breather?

Breather is at rear of diff virtually at the top of the rear plate.

Sounds more like the fillerplug.Sure it's not threaded?

Chillax mate, it's an overflow. Forward of the join between box/diff, high up and on the right hand side of the car? Rectangular and weeps after filling the box with magnatec 40w? Same here.

Keep an eye on it all the same in case it's a crack or whatever, but mine did the same then stopped after about 30 mins of slow seepage.

A little bit of seepage is nothing to worry about.

Thats what the doctor told me anyway.
