I don't think I'm ready for banded steels yet. Of course I need power before grip
But for now I'm woundering what kind of standard wheels would suit the 340 saloon? I'm aiming for looks really but I wouldn't want low profile tyres to mess up my game in the motorway gutters. Suggestions?

I knew banded's would look mega, and i'm right, needs to be lower though if possible IMHO.
I'm going to cause outrage now, but i think the early ones, is that a Mk1 are just plain ugly

Fugly wins, those wheels don't. The orig 13 steels look better than that reel of sellotape thats been stretched over those "rimz" How do people like that look ffs, it looks like a bean tin is sticking out the wheel!

True.. I don't know why people don't get rims with proper ET and tires wide enough to fit the rim. lol. Just my personal opinion, but it looks just as stupid as the mexican lowriders with the same kind of ET/tire setup... And MK1s are by far the best looking 300-series ever, just look at the 363CS or the factory rally cross car.

Feel free to speak your mind mate

Makes for an interesting thread!
Old Volvos were never famed for winning beauty contests. Personally I think MkII GLTs or GLSs are the "prettiest" of a not very pretty bunch, the big-bumpered MkIIIs with the slightly-out-of-proportion rear lights, the ugliest (even though I own two!) Saloons are also not to everyones taste.
Nor are the wheels on that spoiled Mk1. +1 to Chris and Fuse there ...

No worries.
Bean cans FTW though, as said a million times before if we all liked the same thing the World would be a pretty boring place.

No hatred

But not what I'd call pretty!
Had my eye on one on the bay yesterday - low mileage, PAS and "low-tax & city centre low emission zone" B200F engine - hyper rare over here.
