Doesn't look so crazy when you see this. If a few cheap mods can save many £'s throughout the year on a daily car that looks crap anyway (no offence!) then why not. Just don't do it to 300
which has as we all know, perfect aerodynamics already

Actually 300 has better aerodynamics than ZX, which is quite surprising, but that it is how it is by cdA, ZX has more frontal area and cd is about the same, bit ridiculous when you look at them.
I would think that when you have car which kind there are 13 in a dozen, then it really does not matter, but when car is bit more rare, like low mileage 300 (or 300 in any form these days), then modding should not be done.

I actually reckon this must be a fun little car... it looks like a late spec diesel or something so I bet you can surprise a few people

It's the most fun I've had with a car dude (so far). Exploding off the line it leaves some very surprised and confused faces.SteveP wrote:I actually reckon this must be a fun little car... it looks like a late spec diesel or something so I bet you can surprise a few people
They always catch up by 70-80 though. And there's always a smile.

An XS would make an awesome autocross car
If you want a cheaper way in bud, autotesting/autosolos dont require the helmets, nat b, overalls etc. It'll get you hooked, but they only cost about £15 per event so you can play before buying everything else!

Cool idea mate. Best get that V5 sent off if you wanna compete though!
Does it need to be MSA log booked too? Much better steering wheel FTW.

Nah, the local club (as far as I gather) do a standard 1400< class as an entry level job. Run with bigger boys but it's timed runs rather than a race. Unless I'm reading it wrong you just need a lid, grass tyres and a licence. Really must get to the club and enquire further. The Autocrossing seems to be the thing you need the least to compete in.L14MNP wrote:Cool idea mate. Best get that V5 sent off if you wanna compete though!![]()

Talk to them mate, we can all speculate but those are the guys who scruit the cars.
Ask them about auto solos in the area whilst you talk to them and autotests too (I just have a feeling solo's will be more your thing!)
