After an abscence of a few years, during which time I went back to 940's, 240's, V70's 122s', I have come back to the 360 fold. Here is my latest, a 360GLEi Saloon, just turned 70,000, F.S.H., all M.O.T's, and just the way it left the dealers 26 years ago. Wish I still had my red F862 360GLT though. more pics to follow.
Cheers,
Kevin.

very rare piece of equipment mister! there aren't many 340's with a 2.0 engine around these days!!! was only produced for the public for a very limited time, only other 340's that got a 2.0 engine were for the police
it looks in great nick, well done!

1983 340 DL 2.0?

You learn a new thing every day. Never heard of those before ...
I only know '82 343/5 "S" models and '83 360s. Interesting!
Cheers
Tom

that's because there are only a few of them are still around

was at the very beginning of modelyear 83 and only for quite a short period.
was badged 340 because of the low/basic trim level. a bit later on they decided it was better/handyer to code 340/360 by engine and not by trim

Greetings from Serbia.
No pictures right now, maybe later as the GL 340 my 1987 is at body healing with lot of welding.
Engine B14, manual 5 speed, GL trim, 4 doors,189.000km, one previous owner.
Mechanically excellent condition, interior very good, body with rust everywhere you can imagine in lower part.
My experience is more then 15 years with Volvos- 265 GLE diesel, 745 GLE 16V and last 5 years 945 SE B230FK automatic auto lock diff myself converted to LPG.
My first impression about 340, drives like a Volvo, feel inside like a Volvo but built quality is not what I expected.
Basic idea is to refurbish body to daily drive conditions and then add LPG (as it is cheap for simple B14 to install) as first solution. In next phase idea in head is to make electro hybrid or plain electric car as RWD transaxle configuration is almost predestined to such a conversion in realtively few adaption steps.
I will need probably your technical support in various matters and hopefully vast experince with bigger Volvos will make life easier in this project.

That's right Tom!
Both B19A, both 04-1981, both light-green metallic (150-5). The cars are exactly the same, except for the number of doors.
This is my 345 at the Volvo Classic Fair (aka Volvo Klassieker Beurs) october 2011
I borrowed these photographs from the V3C forum
