I am just wondering about how the reproduced parts are going to be shown.
Earlier somebody spoke of using partytents....what is the situation now?

I am in favour of also organising a 300 series parts jumble, even though I will be sticking to showing the repro stuff (only so much space in the car).

Good question RJ,

I will have my 3mx3m "Gazebo" (party tent?) and have arranged some 6'x2' tables.
Looking for more "tents"

How to display parts - two suggestions - laid out and labeled on tables then covered with a sheet of clear polythene or -
wired? onto display boards (plywood?) and covered. Stock can be held securely "in back of car" or we use tables to make "shop front"
with stock held in boxes behind.

Presumption is that "shop" will be "manned" at all times (rota perhaps?)

Autojumble stuff - lay out on tarp. on ground. - second tarp for cover if it rains.

More ideas people??

Dai - what do you need to display your wares ??

Have the 4? major 300 aftermarket suppliers been contacted and have they replied?

I'd suggest parts on a vertical board where possible, you make the most of space (i.e. the "shop" can have loads of parts in a footprint that makes things easy to find). I'm more than up for turning up on day 1 (fri? thurs?) and helping with assembling such displays if wanted. Finding display boards on the other hand might not be super easy.

Mac, I was going to do an article for driver re the gauge faces I'm playing with atm, room for a "how to make a replacement gauge face"? I don't know if it's something the amazon/pv guys would be interested in or if it's just a me thing though.

Time for a review - time presses on.

I have my gazebo,
I have (almost certainly) access to another,
I have arranged trestle tables,
I have arranged chairs,
I have the V3M banner made,
As it is most unlikely that my 300 will be ready ( I have no intention of rushing it)
I will have my front suspension built up as an "after" to Chris Cs " rebuilding"
Foggy has a line on plasma screens,
Matt is looking at stickers,
Thomas is working on video,
RJ will display his wares, as will I, Dai - will you have your stock?, what do you need to display it?
(my built up front end will display your bushes in situ)

Is anybody working on a "storyboard" about drifting, same for rally,
Do we have drift cars confirmed, same for rally,
Is anyone collecting video clips for drift, rallying, repairs, 300 in general
YouTube seems infested but we need collecting and sorting into "presentations"
Can somebody work on "the story of v3m"
Has anybody got the ear of Aymat - he doesn't answer my pm's but he's the Daddy of V3M
And it would be great to have him at the event.
I will begin setting up on the Friday, will anybody else be there.
Is anyone intending to go to the hog roast - if so get in touch with Dave Ovenden ASAP.

Chip in everybody - I want this to be as much a V3M weekend as a VOC one.
3 or 4 of us cannot do this on out own - we will get out of this what we put in !!!

I have requested a half day on the Fri so I can prepare the truck so depending exactly how much of a half day I actually get I may well be able to arrive sometime on Fri eve. If I do I demand the services of a chauffeur to ferry me to and from a fermented vegetable juice dispensing establishment, preferably one that serves cooked dead animals.

I have yet to arrange the site visit to discuss the setting up arrangements, but this should be done within the next few weeks all being well.

As an aside it looks about 50:50 as to whether Notts Police will bring a V70, and there's and outside chance that Derbyshire's Armed Response Unit will bring their S60 (officially Derbyshire have said that they cannot attend an event in another forces area but would willingly attend if we move the venue!). Unofficially however, it may be possible for the AR Unit's reserve car to 'go missing' for a day...........!!

I'm intending to come down on the Saturday and then the Sunday. I don't have anything to help with the display etc., but can lend a pair of hands if needed. Are quite a few camping/staying locally on friday then? Do we have an attendance list for V3Mers?

I should be arriving on the Friday as well, more towards the evening.

Current plans have me visiting A1 Lakes autos on the Friday morning (after sleeping in Sandy) and the Salvo group in Ilkeston on the Friday afternoon (depending on their stock). Is there a need for me to arrive earlier?

I will be at the BKV on the Saturday and Sunday. The partsdisplay I still have to work out with Mac and the others but I am in favour of doing someting "uniform".

I'll make sure that I have an ample supply of BBB catalogues as well as BBB parts. The B14.4 coolant hoses are displayed installed on a new waterpump (still need to find a stand for that).

Still looking at a place to stay locally (BTW thanks to Mac for his tips) for 3 nights so that the repro guys can hold some discussions on where to proceed to next.

What's the crack for camping? Will it be in an area just for camping or in our own V3m area?

I'm looking forwards to camping :D

The V3m area will be on the "rally field" - the camping area is adjacent (last time separated by a roadway)

Time moves on -

There is still much to do -

There are still unanswered questions -

"
Is anybody working on a "storyboard" about drifting, same for rally,
Do we have drift cars confirmed, same for rally, (NB for rally should be Broady81& ChrisC)

"

Am I right to bother ??
