Thanks! There's been lot of work gone into it since I bought it, and it will "evolve" further..

It does look good in those pictures!

I'm a big fan of adapting the camber plates to fit, rather than the car!

I didn't notice the 'reshaped' front panel before. Are those old war wounds from its racing days? I may be able to get some panels for you, if you're interested...

cheers

I have a pair of wings which have minimal rust (just a patch behind where the GLT lip spoiler would go)...but I may need those yet.

I've also got a 360 I'm breaking. It's pretty rusty in general, but I haven't checked out the condition of those panels yet.

cheers

they are being made now. What kind of dampers do you got?

Have they replaced the whole leg and just kept the bottom?

After 3rd gearbox, cars off road now for some surgery.
I looked into different options (porsche transaxle, Cosworth T5, TVR Tremex..) and spoke to some gearbox people.
Volvo 940 (M90) offers best value for money (Very strong, cheap),
so I'm going that route. M90, custom (single piece) prop, 940 diff (with LSD) and shortened 940 shafts.
Also swapping to Megasquirt..Omex is rubbish!
I'm off to watch Catalonya WRC and "surgery" will start when I'm back from Spain.. :D

Haha, awesome. Omex should be pretty saleable...

You may like to look at a 240 axle instead. I believe there are more LSD options (Tru-tracs are nice & cheap...or anything which fits a Dana 30!), and it's closer to being the correct width. The standard 940 'locker' (in the '1041' axle) is a bit...rubbish. I worry that you might bend this though, before too long. Of course chapter and verse on that will be on Tbricks. My knowledge of this is pretty hazy.

cheers

Are you going to fit a 940 rear axle complete with solid half-shaft tubes or do you mean the 900-series multilink diff with CV joints?

I'd probably choose a diff which has CV-jointed half shafts, though that's just my personal taste. I prefer the setup where diff is a separate unit from the rear axle. Also it would be a lot easier convert to IRS later if wanted with a diff which has CV-joints. :P

Solid axle/diff setup isn't bad but there's just a bit more work when designing strong enough attatchment points for the axle etc... Of course same work is needed with the IRS-type diff if the 300-series stock rear axle is swapped to different one (for example 4-link, or even IRS) at the same time. :)

Makkiver is using IRS type diff from BMW 500-series mated with front mounted Getrag box from the same BMW. Cheap and strong. Currently he has stock 360 rear axle/suspension geometry.
