Yeah it was fun, these two unfortunately were in my class as there were no other 1600-2000CC running. Very noisy fast cars and very much better than me

[arnie]I'll be back[/arnie]
MOT ran out 20 minutes ago. The Tardis rests after a very abusive night. Over the next couple of weeks I hope to do some MOT stuff and welding before jetting off somewhere hot. Whenever I return, I'll be getting it back on the road asap. In worse news I couldn't suspend my car insurance so I'll be spending money for no good reason

Ah well.

Yeah that was a slight moment of desperation when I thought about selling it. I'd hate to get rid though, this car is me all over despite all the times I've had RAC out

How long are you away for bud? If it's too long, I'd be tempted to get a ticket on her now. That way, all the problems that arise through leaving it sat can all be sorted without the stress of not being able to road test it before a test.

Only a month or so, it won't make much of a difference plus I can't afford a ticket right now.

Er, I got carried away with my money and now I'm back
On to MOT stuff! Oh my...
Would you believe me that the jacking point is rust free?
I've cut out and treated the inside too
There's about 7 holes in total but overall not really bad at all, nothing a bit of bzzz can't fix
Bit of arch damage
Tomorrow I weld them up, so I practised to make sure the equipment/myself was up for the job:
Not bad for my first real try! Penetration seemed ok too. Roll on tomorrow

Slow progress but the weekend looks like good weather, hopefully I'll get the welding finished.
A bit of ZZZZZ and I have these
And in hindsight after primer points out the shit bits I think I'll grind these down a bit better. This one looks like I've used putty!

(also please ignore the plate weld done by MOT man in less knowledgeable times)
But 2 of the trickiest done at least (each involved curving around the top of the sill). Tomorrow I do the big hole.

Done! I did go back and make those areas neat again. No major headaches overall, I'm most proud of the archway because it's the neatest

Pictures!
Ohh we're halfway there...
Welded in a L shape piece about 3 inches long here being very careful - it pays off
Finally I thought I'd treat myself to a sticker for all the hard work
I ran out of paint at the end but I got at least a first coat on most areas
Just waiting on some parts from Dai now and I'm all set for the MOT.
Next step is finding some ATS cups with tyres. Wish me luck!
