Distance to car at front should be taken more seriously and enforced more than some speed limits, imo. Might be of course different in UK, but what I have heard tail gaters are strongly alive species there too...
I think the money from cameras can no longer be used to fund more cameras. If it's a safety issue thats a joke. This was a mobile Camera van on a straight road with no side roads on it what so ever.
You only get tail gaited if you drive too slowly

this rule is a pain in the arse.
I knew of it literally the day after i brouhgt my van, but knowing how useless the cops are arround my area(untill you hit the motorway towns) Ive got away doing 60+ no problem.
its 10mph less so in theory in a 30 you do 20, etc but at that pace you might as well be parked up eating a burger and drinkign tea.

Ah, so then no relocation of damn things still
I got tailgated even I did 90, that vinyl I have in trunk seem to cause some drivers to tailgate.
2 seconds is 50 meters, so I do wonder how drivers here are going to handle things when they drive with less than 20 meters from car at front, might be jedi candidates?

The cameras weren't on every gantry, but there were calibration markings on every lane at every gantry. (unless things have changed and it may well have) No idea what it is now as I haven't been there for aeons.
The cameras do not a lot unless you're taking the pish. (*Remember the lowest it'll be set to for in a 70, is 79 (10%+2mph or more - whatever they feel like that day, but it won't be less). Speedo reading at 70mph may well be less) Anyway, the point in that zone was that the camera kicked in when the variable limit was in force and so set to 60 (>68+) / 50 (>57+) / 40 (>46+)

See I've always thought the 10% + 2 rule was just down to the force in question. But if it's nation wide why do they have this threshold?

Well it's 10% + 3 for a 20mph limit. The plod in question could do you for 31mph in a 30mph zone, but the prosecution could be wobbly on instrument/operator error.
The 10% + 2 is ACPO guidelines.
