I imagine if you'd had some tyre round the metal that wouldn't have happened

I've hit a 15 with a 7" deep 8ft long pot hole at full pace on a rally, and whilst it buckled the front wheel enough to hit the caliper and the rear enough to crack the bead it didn't shatter
What make wheels are they? I wonder if they have the awesome strength of some halfords specials
Seriously though, I do feel for you, have you got a new tie rod yet?

Don't want to throw in a downer but My 89 GLE that got stolen, had smashed front alloys (13") and the front sub frame had shifted back a bit, once the chassis wrinkes behind the radius arm its a right off, you will never get it straight. I can't see any wrinkles from the photo but look hard.

Right guys taking this of the road over the christmas period.
just looking at the pictures what do you think can be done to bring it back to life??
( i know its hard to tell with the pics)
where the track bar or what ever its called bolts on to the car that has been bent back slightly which is causeing me to loose about an inch on the length.
the subframe itself looks like it hasnt moved its just the drivers side that took the hit and has been pushed back.
any ideas would be great i.e cutting the section out and getting a new one welded in?
getting it jigged? iam not sure where they do this around the bromley area though?
cheers
sam

Jiggs are a pain, you could spend all that money and it could still be weakened. For me I know what I would do - find the point where the metal is not creased IE - the subframe. If you're certain it's not bent from here, cut out the metal and weld new metal in.

Thanks to davemk1gti and his 3 door im going to be starting the re-build tomorrow if the weather permits
have found some wheels to suit and just need to swap everything over from the old one
few small rust repairs need to be done but that shall be alot easier than trying to straighten the old one!

Cool! I hope she serves you well. Any ideas on what wheels you're putting on?
