It is indeed a manta. My mates dad has had it since new - It's a 76 and now has a 2.4 in it for Retro Events
The Endurance Event is a lot closer than the Britvic - Dublin/Meath/Kildare Area

I didn't get any photos last night as it was chucking it down in the Wicklow Hills.
The 340 made it through unscathed even after we missed a hairpin white and had to make a spirited run to get back on time.

A Cento who made the same mistake didn't fare so well and did half the event with the exhaust split in 2 and sparking off the road.
It's sitting outside my house now so a quick shot of it post event
The wheels are mismatched as they are only a stop gap while a get the alloys clothed in some rubber.
I painted over the black paint that was all over the cills and the front valance.
Also picked up a mark two golf splitter at the event last night.
Some weight saving has also happened

Boot Carpet (It was actually house carpet) and Headlight wiper motors removed and binned !!!! woo hoo p/w advantage.
Overall I'm delighted with how the car handled. It is uber slow and over geared for these purposes but we still set 3rd fastest time on the Test and finished 4th O/A out of 24 entries. Then cruised home on the motorway in comfort with the radio on - Nice

Theo, Managed to save some cash to spend on lowering as I got it insured on a classic policy. Definitely not a chequebook build this one
VND, I'll get some decent photos up when I get the wheels on.

That sounds familar... nicely done on not loosing the exhaust though, I get through them at pace (found a quick release bean can on one of the joints meant that the can sacrificed itself rather than the exhaust going in the end, have a better solution now

)

I'd have kept the wipers if I were you, a few fords and muddy whites and they really come into their own as you fly past some 205 whose jumped out at a control to clean them

Great result though, congratulations

Chris - Tell me more about this exhaust mod.
The lights are indeed awful but my spots were down in Laois and I didn't have time to fit them. Sod's law as well - It was very foggy in places

You may have had an advantage using std lights.
Flare your big spots up in fog and all it does is shine back and blind ya

All mine was doing is holding two sections of exhaust together, instead of with the sleeve joint just used a soup/bean tin. You have to replace it every few months, but it doesn't screw the whole system when you hit it.
Can get annoying dragging a split system about to complete an event though, so might not be the way forward.
