Turbo. Swapped mine from 2.0 carb to 2.3i turbo. They're as 'bomb proof' as an engine comes mate. SX woes... CA18DET? SR20DET's are normally fine if serviced!

Find a Euro spec 2.3 16V. Those things have lotsty power from the small amount I've looked into them

Me want too. Easier to make a hybrid Chris?
I've been told finding a 16v head is hard enough.

Yeah, they are a pain. It'd be a bit of work but no more than a turbo, worth sourcing the parts for I'd imagine.

Sounds feasible. I shall start having a look. Worth having to one side if do find one.
The OP only wants standard power, and we're on the way to building him a 400 BHP nutter.

SR20det its an S14a spent 2 grand on it then the turbo started smoking heavy on it whilst i had no job its sat there for a year and half now, got a turbo just gotta get that on do some other bits and MOT then sell it. Everythings just to expensive for just having a bit of fun. Its ok if you dont have kids and a nagging missus to suck all the money out of ya !!

I'll see how it goes for a while and try to get some money together after selling the 200 and my supermoto

ok i know this has been mentioned a million times but i need a fairly quick answer!
I've bought an F7r engine complete with loom and ecu and i pick it up friday, the guy still has the rest of the car there is there anythingelse i'll need?
My car is a 1.7.
