My experience from 360s is that they are not quiet compared to other cars I have driven, but it can be that I have not driven many of them and probably none that would be in perfect condition.

My ears were ringing with 240 too and that has a lot more sound damping in it and pretty good weather stripping.

French crap is better, ears are not ringing after the trip (actually you don't need to rise a voice when talking with passenger in it), but it is horrible in every other way

I doubt that with any 300 such a long trip would be very enjoyable, but then again, they do drive silly trips with 2CV too and consider it as fun at -20C

Ive done 316miles in that black glt with one stop. Was absolutley comfortable. Never even put the radio on.
Think 600miles a day, over two days would be absolutley comfortable too. Stop for the ferry and a coulple of wee's.

Wouldnt be AS nice in a 4 geared 1.4 though.

Mine's pretty quiet and pretty reliable too Will do 40mpg at best. Still running stock suspension - gr8 for comfortz

GLTs make noticeably more noise at higher speeds than carbed versions. Not really an issue if you're sticking to 70, though.

I'd happily drive my 360 to Sweden, but not the 343...at least not without the addition of a full exhaust!

Tyre noise and wind noise are quite strong in mine, sure that straight trough exhaust is loud too, but still tyre noise is challening it

That'd depend if said GLE had a sunroof that fitted properly Wouldn't have any issues driving a 360 600 miles over two days, perfectly comfortable. Most noise I found came from the A pillar gutter trims, or worn/brittle window seals.

A 360 is not loud and a 343 is not loud.

To be honest I don't reckon my 360 GLS was any louder than my S70 - I do think decent door rubbers and non sunroof helps a great deal.

Thats just cos he ejected it at 70 and had to go back up the road to get it!!!

I remember that there was some reason why 360 was great to drive, but I'm afraid that I have already forgotten that too, getting old I guess

2009 S80 seems to me bit loud too, must be that at least I'm getting bit soft, to french crap I have added loads of sound proofing and tyres are most quiet that can be bought, still I'm using ear plugs

Are we talking about engine noise or general road noise?
he only cabin noise ive ever had issue with was due to perished/split door seals or non-correctly sealing sunroof. Even then its just a drone/occasional whitsle.

My pug tranfers engine noise through every bit of the shell and resonates like a tornado over non-smooth roads. Top of forth gear at over 80, on a non glass-smooth road and its pretty much like being in an argument with the devil during the appocolypse, inside a tumble drier.

I think road+wind noise is worst, sure engine noise can be bad too, but it is more tolerable, imo.

Glass alone lets huge amount of noise pass trough, oncoming traffic is about par with what my french crap makes noise, last time when I tested 360 it was impossible for me to go past 40MPH, noise was so loud that it really did hurt, tyre noise was one quite bad, but also exhaust noise was quite loud.

As my trips are mostly over 100 miles and I do them rather often, noise comes bit of an issue.

You would think that I would be closer that place, well if I'm going to drive all the way it will be around 2000km to one direction, if taking ferry it is just over 1000km, but ferry is expensive and it can sink

2000km equals 110 litres of diesel, which is 152 euros, that is not that bad, need to add hotel to that or maybe a two, and it is costing something like near 500 euros, here either there is no real difference if driving or if going with ferry at part of distance, well that is if one night is slept in a car/camping that is, I doubt that anyone can drive 2000km visit museum and then drive 2000km with only one slept night, 1000km a day is pretty much what can be driven, then good night sleep is a must.

I don't think that my schedule will allow the trip, but I keep ears open, who knows, maybe it is possible

who gives a damm about noise? as long as the cars a good drive, noise really doesn't bother me
