My own car is in the same state it's been in for the past three years...an empty chassis with an engine sat next to it! Come the time, I suspect I'll go straight to programmable management, as I don't think LH will like what I have planned.

Adam's car is coming along nicely. We got it running the other day, and apparently it's running very nicely now they're bodged the downpipe on so they've got the lambda sensor doing something useful.

cheers

James

Starter solenoid gone, or more likely you've disturbed wires going to it?

Check the engine will turn over by hand (24mm socket on front pulley bolt), check that the earth strap to the block is well seated, and the same for the +12v feed to the starter. Check the battery has charge in it!

We haven't swapped the fuel lines on Adam (13431)'s car...yet. Not sure if we will need to or not.

When swapping the flywheel, note the position! With the engine at TDC, the blank should be in the starter hole.

He needs some oil pressure first! :)

Flywheels...breakers yards? I may have a source. I need one myself, as it happens!

I'll ask the question. The friend who sourced me a pair before is in Blackpool, so not far from you.

Engine out of the 940 is easy enough. Back into the 360 is the fun part - the gearbox (and torque tube and bellhousing) needs to be removed, really.

To be fair, I wouldn't bother taking the bulk of it off - they don't really rust in the middle. Maybe locally around any seams where you see brown...although it'll only be a temporary fix unless you replace the metal. The original coatings are very tough, pretty much impossible to replicate and home, and you'll probably do more harm than good :?

i used to work in a bodyshop working on rusty vans so im pretty good with rust now lol.

not updated this for a while, not been able to work on the car alotsadly so things are comeing along pretty slow, but slowly but surely they are comeing along ,

first thing was i stripped the car of lights and stuff so i could finish cutting down and tidying up the wireing up, got that done a while ago tbh

i cut off everything that wasnt needed and chased the wires through and cut them off then taped it up and decided to take the loom out the same night even though it was starting to go dull, and it seemed like it would take ages,
well 10 mins later :)
Image
Image
turns out it was the most easy part so far lol,

after that night i didnt get chance to work on the car till 8pm last night, but a 12.30am finish lead to these results
