Argh, bit far. Thread is long-winded, if I just chucked in a gearbox/whole engine would it be ready to go? What's actually the matter with it?

sorry my mistake, i forgot to amend the advert the car WILL be coming with a gearox. so all it would need is an engine. the old one is probably fine, but would be more effort than its worth to get it going right.

joe i wont be here on saturday due to work, however, i can talk to the wardens and see if they can be there for me instead if you like, but it would be much easier to do this on a monday/sunday night or tuesday and or wednesday

like i said in the first post, it needs work - the engine runs but diesels due to the inlet manifold not being bolted up properly, i believe one of the nuts is missing and it hasn't got the same carb on it. and if you read the link i provided to the thread, this would have been obvious. why else do you think its 100 quid?!

and you can get an engine for 50 quid, or at the time, i was kindly offered one for free from a member on here, so they arent exactly bank breakers
it only has 59k on the clock if that, the engine ran perfectly before i swapped the carb over. it just would be easier to drop a new one in as you can pick them up for peanuts
